In school, especially for students in secondary school, speed reading will help students to read large quantities of text which is found in the standard text book. Being younger actually makes students the perfect candidates for learning speed reading as students tend to be able to learn new skills at a much faster rate than their older counterparts. If students learn this skill early, they will truly see the benefits when they move on to college level classes and eventually into the professional world.
In high school, students receive many assignments in text books including outlining and answering questions about book chapters. Because speed reading is not just focused on speed but it is focused on comprehension, students will be more successful in their final products which will improve the grades and help them as they plan for their future.
