What is the difference between WD’s Passport and Elements portable hard drives?
Obviously since they’re both portable, they don’t need external power sources, just the USB connection. I also know how they look. What I need to know is their differences in operation, ie. speed, software if any, kind of USB connection, etc.
I was planning to buy a 500gb passport but i read a lot of negative reviews about its built-in software that hogs pc resources and is hard or impossible to uninstall (occupies precious space on the drive too), as well as the weak usb connection on the drive itself. I don’t know much about the elements version and I want to know if it is better to get that version (and please explain why as well).
portable is a good choice to add more space, or for back up files..
