Recommend English books for immigrant taking the LSAT?
I know an immigrant who’s (almost) fluent at speaking English and hoping to take the LSAT, but struggling with reading vocabulary and speed issues. I want to recommend him a few fictional books to read to try and improve reading comprehension/speed without it feeling like studying. So the ideal book should involve critical thinking and have a high level vocabulary while still being entertaining. Any suggestions? The best genre for him would be dramas, but it doesn’t have to be limited to that.

Stay away from the fiction and recommend that he pick up some New Yorkers, The Economists, and Scientific Americans. They’ll give him experience reading articles in a similar vein to the reading comp passages on the LSAT, test his vocabulary, and also involve a lot of critical thinking. The material is also varied, so he’ll get experience reading on topics with which he isn’t familiar. Finally, the articles are short, so he can pick and choose those which he finds interesting!
